Dakota Tankersley

After graduating Cum Laude from the University of West Georgia in 2018 with a degree in Criminology and a minor in Psychology, Dakota went on to attend Mercer University School of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor in 2021. While at Mercer, he also completed the school’s Advanced Legal Writing Certificate Program, further developing his skills in legal research, analysis, and written advocacy.

Following law school, Dakota began his legal career as a Law Clerk for the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit, where he worked closely with all four Superior Court Judges. In this role, he assisted the Court with a wide variety of matters involving both criminal and civil law, gaining valuable insight into the judicial process and developing a broad foundation of legal knowledge.

Outside of the office, Dakota enjoys spending time with his wife, Emily, and their seven pets—three dogs, three cats, and one snake. He is also an avid golfer and a passionate supporter of Georgia professional sports, as well as a particularly devoted fan of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
